We start with your concept and design. During this process, we decide what size mold to make that would fit your needs. Then the prototyping begins.
After the prototype is approved, our mold specialist carves and sculpts the material into a master mold to be cooked in the vulcanizer. After the vulcanization process, the mold is duplicated to create a production mold.
Once your production mold is complete, it is handed over to the production table. While on the table, one of our highly motivated employees sets the mold and passes it to our casters.
The mold is then carefully placed in a spin-casting machine. After activating the maching to spin, the caster pours 700-800 degree liquid lead into the top of the machine that feeds the lead into the mold. The machine spins for a set amount of time for the lead to cool off. Once the mold comes out of the machine it is passed back to our setters to be removed from the lead ring that is created and then the process is repeated until the order is complete.
If the lures are to be painted, they are placed on a variety of racks depending on the size and type. Next, the powder coat is applied and the racks are moved into the oven that is set at 350 degrees. The lures are cooked for 20-30 minutes depending on the size, and ready to have eyes put on them if necessary.
